To check if your application has been successfully effected, return to the Internship Program pageand click “Track Process”. Enter your e-mail and CPF (Individual Taxpayer Number), as previously registered, and confirm the data.
To track the selection process, go to Internship Program and click “Track Process”.
The internship program is run in all Vale locations across Brazil, but availability of vacancies may vary according to demand in specific business areas. Click here for more information on these locations.
The Internship Program application process is always open and you can submit your resume at any time throughout the year. There are, however, two application milestones per year - once a semester. At these times, full selection processes are held (with online tests, group dynamics, panels and interviews), and all resumes submitted up to the date given on the Program page are sifted. Resumes submitted after the due date are retained on the registration system for future opportunities.
Planning is effected according to requirements in each sector, and updated information can be found on the program page.
Interns at technical and university graduate level receive a monthly allowance, private transportation or vouchers, meals on site or food vouchers and medical assistance.
After applying, will I automatically participate in all stages of the process?
Application for the program does not guarantee participation in all stages of the selection process. The first stage of the process is screening of resumes, which are assessed according to program requirements - graduation date, course, location, etc. Resumes falling within the desired profile are selected for the next stage – the online test.
If your educational institution is not among those on the list, the application should be made using the option “Others” at the end of the list. This will not affect a candidate application.
The Internship Program is run in Vale areas of operation and vacancies are opened according to company requirements.
One of the main characteristics of the Internship Program is that the student has a link with an educational institution. Internship candidates at university graduate level may not complete an internship outside their state. During the internship period, the student will still be required to attend university, and travel to other states would not be possible due to the working hours requirement.
For internship candidates at technical level, if the student has yet to complete the theory stage, it will not be possible to do an internship in another state. If the student has completed the theory stage, he or she may be an intern in another location provided that he/she can prove residence in the same location as the intended internship.
The stages are held at Vale offices, or at Recruitment and Selection facilities which provide us with support in these processes.
If you participated in the previous selection process and did not pass, you should reapply. If you passed all stages in the previous process, but remained in the Talent Bank, you do not need to reapply. Just keep your details updated. Where a specific vacancy arises, or in the next selection process, if your resume still falls within graduation, course and location requirements and if there are vacancies for your profile you may be called to return to the selection process at the point where you stopped.
It is not possible to participate if your graduation date is not compatible with that required by the program. In order for the intern to acquire practical skills in his/her professional area, it is necessary to have studied theoretical content in line with the functions to be performed.
It is not possible to apply for a course different from, or only similar to yours. The intern will be mentored by a Vale professional trained to assess and develop, in conjunction with the intern, specific technical and theoretical skills in the required graduation area. In addition, during final selection stages, you should present proof of graduation and enrolment in the course you opted for.
The possibility of being hired depends on factors such as intern performance, vacancies on the staff and other aspects.
Details of the number of vacancies and functions during internship are provided only to those candidates reaching the final stages of the selection process.
Portuguese: reading, analysis (non-syntactic) and text interpretation. Mathematics: logical reasoning and problem-solving using basic arithmetic operations, the rule of three, percentages, statistics and units of measure. English: for internship candidates at university graduate level. Technical-level candidates will also be tested on aspects related to technical qualification required for the course.
You can only access the Internship Program using Internet Explorer. When a candidate applies using a browser other than Internet Explorer, a white screen may appear due to non-compatibility of systems. Recommended screen resolution for the site is 800 X 600 pixels.
This phase is related to vacancy profiles. Non-approval in this stage may be defined because the resume does not meet requirements for graduation, graduation date or location, etc.
The entire selection process should be tracked by the candidate. Click here and locate the process tracking button in “How to apply” and view the selection stages. Don’t forget to keep your information updated and check your e-mail, particularly if it’s Yahoo!, Hotmail or Gmail. Such accounts may filter out selection process e-mails. Check your Spam inbox and mark e-mails from email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org as “Not Spam”.

The selection process should be tracked by the candidate. To do this, visit the page for the program you applied for and click on “Track Process”. As soon as Vale has a response, it will appear on the candidate’s registration page.
Information on the Track Process link is merely a history of your previous selection process. Don’t worry – this will not influence the new selection process in which you are now participating.
If you’re in the Talent Bank, it’s because you did well in the selection process stages of a Vale program, but we can’t offer you a position at the moment. If a vacancy with your profile comes up during a new process, you may be informed and invited to continue where you left off. However, being in the Talent Bank does not guarantee that you’ll be called again. Only candidates with a suitable profile for new vacancies will be called.
If you’ve already participated in a Vale selection process, there’s no need to reapply because your resume is already part of the Talent Bank. If a vacancy with your profile comes up, we’ll contact you, and you can continue selection from where you left off. There is also the possibility that you may have to repeat a selection process stage.

If you participated in the previous selection process and did not pass, you should reapply.
If you passed all stages but didn’t go on to the final phase, but are in the Talent Bank, you just need to keep your details updated. In the next selection process (if held in the same year), if your resume still falls within graduation, course and location requirements, and if there are vacancies for your profile, you may be called to return to the selection process at the point where you stopped.
If you participated in the selection process in the previous year, you should reapply.
The whole process can be tracked on the program page. Candidates should click on “Track Process” and enter their CPF and e-mail. In selection processes where applications are made by filling out forms, and those at educational institutions, candidates should follow up results at the place of application.
Application does not guarantee participation in all stages of the selection process. The first stage of the process is screening of resumes, which are assessed according to program requirements - graduation, course, location, etc. Resumes which fail to meet one of the requirements will not pass on to the next stage. In some cases, the candidate may be suitable to the profile, but there may not be vacancies. In this case, the resume will be stored in the Talent Bank.
For some selection processes, yes. Those who pass will be trained by Vale. To find out if the program you’re interested in requires high school or a technical course, visit the Opportunities in Brazil page and see what profiles are required by the company in each program.
For selection processes requiring a technical/professional course, it is not possible to apply for a different course.
It is not possible to participate in a program in a different location to that indicated during application. Candidates from neighboring cities may apply, but may not pass resume screening. This happens because vacancy planning takes into account transportation provided by Vale to operational units where vacancies are offered. We also consider preferential hiring of local people.
The Professional Qualification Program is run in Vale areas of operation and vacancies are opened according to company requirements.
Approved candidates are hired as Vale employees.
Meal vouchers (or meals in workplace), food vouchers, transportation vouchers, health plan and participation in company dividends.
Those approved will participate in adaptation and skills development in project management for approximately two months. After completion of training, the professional should be available to work on Vale projects in different parts of Brazil or in other countries. The Capital Project Specialization Program curricular framework will be made up of the following models:
1. Business and Program Overview
2. Project Management
3. Project Management at Vale
4. Course Completion Project
Applications are made on the Vale site with submission of resumes, which are analyzed in accordance with program requirements. Those selected are contacted by Vale or by the consultancy running the process, and receive instructions regarding the following selection stages – online test, interviews, group dynamics, etc. Candidates who do not pass will receive a message about termination of the selection process, which can be viewed by clicking on the link "Track Process".
It is possible to apply for up to three different selection processes. If you are approved for one, you will be automatically removed from the other two.
